Description
This building, located north-east of Home Farmhouse, is a house that was formerly a farmhouse. It is dated 1604, with the initials S.D. found on reused stone in the front wall, and underwent late 18th-century alterations. The structure features red sandstone rubble walls and a Welsh slate roof, with a 20th-century tile roof on the extension to the right. There are brick and stone chimney stacks present.
Originally, this was an early 17th-century single-storey cottage with three bays. It was altered in the early 18th century to add an additional storey and extended by two bays to the right in the late 18th century, resulting in two houses. The front of the building has two small original windows on the ground floor, with a filled entrance to the left; the third window on the right has been enlarged to accommodate an early 19th-century two-pane sash. The small upper floor casements are framed in early 18th-century surrounds. The extension to the right features a plank door and a staircase window with glazing bars to the right. The rear of the building previously had two entrances, one of which is now filled. There are sash windows with glazing bars, along with smaller filled windows on the ground floor.
