Description

The Gothic screen wall in the garden at the rear of numbers 11 and 13 Daltongate is likely from the mid-19th century. It is constructed from rock-faced limestone and features a Gothic design with chamfered pointed blind openings. The main section of the wall faces north towards the back of No. 11 and includes a blind doorway that is framed by masonry, which protrudes under a cornice with a blocking course. On either side of the doorway, there are niches situated below embattled parapets. The parapet on the right side rises towards a corner turret, which has openings on the north and west sides, including blind window openings on an upper level.
