Description

This is an L-shaped range of barns and byres that adjoins the east end of The Buildings Farmhouse, dating from the mid-19th century with some later alterations. The structure is built from coursed, squared rubble with quoins and features graduated slate roofs. The north range extends from the farmhouse and includes a wagon arch at the junction that leads to the rear. The front of the building has eight byre doors, some of which are part-blocked, along with two doors and two windows above; all doors have segmental heads with projecting imposts and keystones. At the rear, there are two large segment-headed wagon doors that are accessed via ramps, with a lean-to structure in between. The east range is of similar construction and has two wagon doors to the right and three byre doors to the left. There is a first-floor entrance on the left accessed by steps, along with four windows. All doors, except for the center byre door which is part-blocked, have segmental heads. A 20th-century lean-to against the south return is not included in the listing.
