Description
No. 39 North Road is a restaurant that was originally two properties built at right angles to each other in the mid-19th century, with later alterations. The building is constructed from coursed, squared rubble and features separate graduated slate roofs, each with end chimneys. It has an overall 'L' shaped plan. The north elevation is two stories high and has three bays, with a central door flanked by sash windows on either side, and two additional sashes on the first floor. The west elevation is also two stories and has three bays, featuring a single sash window to the north and a shop front with a panelled door and a three-light window to the south, along with two sashes above. The building is included for its group value with the nearby church.
