Description
The Church Hall, which was formerly part of a Grammar School, dates from the 18th century and features a reset datestone from 1677 on its east wall. The building is constructed from coursed squared rubble and has moulded quoins. It has a steeply pitched roof covered with graduated slate, complemented by stone end chimneys and a moulded stone cornice. The hall is two storeys high and has a symmetrical west elevation with five bays. The central entrance consists of a vertically split eight-panelled door topped by a traceried rectangular fanlight. The doorcase is plain and features a possibly reset cornice and a segmental pediment above it. On either side of the door are two sash windows with glazing bars, and there are five windows on the first floor, all but the central one being sashes with glazing bars.
