Description
This building, located to the south of Midland Bank in Alston, is a house that has been converted into a shop. It dates from the mid-18th century and has undergone some later alterations. The exterior is made of coursed rubble and is pebble-dashed. The roof is covered with graduated stone flags and features a stone chimney. The building is three stories tall with a four-bay front. There is a passage leading to the rear on the right side, and on the left, there is a part-glazed door within a late 20th-century lean-to shop front.
