Description

This is a threshing barn and byre located 50 yards southeast of Hay Close Farmhouse, likely built in the early 18th century. The structure is made of slobbered rubble with quoins and features a graduated slate roof with kneelers at the north end. It has a single tall storey with a loft at the north end and consists of six bays. There is a plank wagon door with a timber lintel, and vent slits on either side, with a casement window to the far left. A byre door is found on the north return, along with stone steps leading to the loft door. Inside, there are five queen-strut roof trusses.
