Description
This is a threshing barn and byre located to the north-east of Hardendale Hall, likely built in the 18th century, with later additions and alterations. The structure is made of coursed, squared rubble with quoins, sitting on a boulder plinth and has a slobbered finish. It features a graduated slate roof with an outshut at the rear and a stone ridge. The east elevation has a segment-headed wagon entrance, while the west elevation has a winnowing door opposite. There is a byre door in the center of the north return, all of which are made of plank and set in chamfered surrounds. Lean-to additions are present but are not of particular interest. The building is listed for its group value.
