Description
The outbuilding located to the northwest of Hawkesdale Hall is likely to have originally served as stables and dates from the early 18th century. It is constructed of whitewashed sandstone rubble and features a sandstone slate roof. The building is single-storey and consists of two bays, with two shaped gables topped with ball finials. The ground floor entrance is blocked and has been replaced with a two-light stone-mullioned window, while an oval window is positioned above in a stone surround. There is a loft entrance to the right, and the left side wall retains its original entrance with a chamfered surround. The right end wall has been altered with 20th-century garage doors. The outbuilding is connected to the house extension by a 19th-century segmental arch and is listed partly for its group value with Hawkesdale Hall.
