Description

Brackenhow is a farmhouse dating from the mid or late 17th century. It features incised stucco and a Welsh slate roof with coped gables, along with brick chimney stacks. The building is two storeys tall and has six bays. A 20th-century door is set within a painted architrave. The windows are two-light stone-mullioned with chamfered surrounds, and there are chamfered-surround fire windows on both floors at the extreme left. A continuous painted drip mould runs over the entrance and windows, as well as on the upper floor. There are 20th-century additions to the rear and single-storey outbuildings to the left, which are not of interest.
