Description

Dalston Bridge is a road bridge over the River Caldew, dated 1812, featuring the inscription "UNION BRIDGE" on the central parapet stones. The bridge is constructed of snecked red sandstone ashlar and has three segmental arches supported by pointed cutwaters. There is a string course beneath a solid parapet, with oval inscription stones on either side. It is referred to as Dalston Bridge on the Ordnance Survey map.
