Description
Thackwood is a house from the early 19th century, which incorporates part of an earlier house dated 1681, featuring the initials H.S. and E.S. above the entrance. The building has painted rendered walls resting on a squared plinth and a graduated greenslate roof with painted rendered chimney stacks. It is two storeys high and has five bays. There is a 20th-century gabled porch with a six-panel door. The entrance on the left has a 20th-century door set in a roll-moulded surround, along with a dated and inscribed lintel. The ground floor features large mid-19th century windows, while the smaller windows on the upper floor are stone-mullioned from the 19th century, all with hood moulds. A central 19th-century gabled dormer is also present. The attached outbuildings are not of interest.
