Description

Fieldhead is a farmhouse dated 1782, featuring the initials JB. It is constructed of painted reeded ashlar with V-jointed painted quoins on a chamfered plinth. The roof is made of graduated greenslate, equipped with coped gutters and kneelers, and there are an ashlar chimney stack on the right and a brick chimney stack on the left. The building has two storeys and three bays, with a lower single-bay extension to the right that has a hipped greenslate roof. The entrance is a 20th-century door set in a quoined surround with a keyed entablature that is dated and inscribed. The windows are 12-pane sash types, framed in painted stone surrounds. There is a barn to the left, but it is not of interest.
