Description

This house, located immediately north-east of Haythwaite, dates from the late 17th century or early 18th century. It is constructed of whitewashed sandstone rubble with flush quoins on a projecting plinth. The roof is covered with graduated greenslate and features 20th-century brick chimney stacks. The building has two storeys and consists of four bays. The entrance is a plank door set in a painted chamfered surround. On the left side, there are small fire windows with chamfered surrounds, flanking a two-light flat stone mullioned window. There is an enlarged window at the extreme left. The upper floor has casement windows in painted stone surrounds, while the windows on the right are sashes with glazing bars.
