Description
Dovenby Mill is a former timber saw mill dating from the mid-19th century. It is constructed of calciferous sandstone rubble with flush quoins and features a graduated greenslate roof. The building has three storeys and two bays, with lower extensions forming an L-shape. There is a plank door set in a quoined surround, and sash windows with glazing bars, although the ground-floor windows are boarded over, all framed in stone surrounds. The front extension includes a sliding door from the 20th century beneath slit vents, while the left extension has a 20th-century garage door in a stone surround. The mill is listed for its group value with Dovenby Mill House.
