Bowling Green House, located in the grounds of Cockermouth Castle, is an early 18th-century garden house. It is octagonal in shape and sits on a square platform, constructed of brick with stone quoins and dressings. The house features a conical slate roof and a stone moulded cornice. On the south side, there is a door adorned with a curved open pediment and an urn, accessible by a flight of steps. There is a window on each of the other sides, each framed with stone architraves.
