Description

Riggfoot House is a farmhouse dated 1821, as indicated by the inscription on the lintel above the rear entrance, which also features the initials GWM. The building has incised stucco walls with chamfered quoins and a graduated slate roof, complemented by yellow brick chimney stacks from the 19th and 20th centuries. The entrance is framed by a chamfered quoin surround and a round arch, leading to a four-panel door topped with a patterned fanlight. The sash windows, which include glazing bars, are set within painted stone surrounds. To the left of the main structure, there is a projecting canted bay window that is a mid-19th century addition. On the right side, a single-storey extension features painted flush quoins and includes a 20th-century steel casement window.
