Description

Abbey Cowper is a farmhouse dated and inscribed over the rear entrance with "W.M. 1735." It has undergone extensive alterations in the late 18th century or early 19th century. The exterior features painted incised stucco with painted V-jointed quoins on a chamfered painted plinth. The roof is made of graduated greenslate, and there are ashlar chimney stacks. The building is two storeys high and has three bays. The front entrance includes a top-glazed four-panel door set in a Tuscan porch. The windows are sash style with glazing bars, framed by painted stone architraves. The rear wall is older than the facade and includes 19th-century windows. There are separate listings for the extension and barns.
