Description
The churchyard wall south of the Church of St Mary is a 20th-century structure built on a medieval plinth. It is made of squared blocks of red sandstone and features a low, unfinished design. The wall is constructed on the site of the south aisle wall of the former Abbey of Holme Cultram and incorporates the excavated foundations of the cloister entrance. Additionally, the west end of the wall includes the plinth of the south-west angle of the nave.
