Description

Knowehill is a farmhouse dating from the late 18th century. It features painted brick on a painted stone plinth and has a graduated greenslate roof with brick chimney stacks. The building is two storeys high and has three bays. A 20th-century door is set in an eared architrave beneath a pedimented cornice. The sash windows are framed by painted stone surrounds. On the left end wall, there is a carved stone coat of arms, likely belonging to the original owner. Additionally, the remains of a ground floor two-light stone-mullioned window in the rear wall indicate that part of an earlier building is incorporated into the structure.
