Description

East O' Brow Top is a farmhouse, now a private house, dating from 1767, with later alterations. It has whitewashed walls built on a large projecting plinth of stones. The roof is of graduated greenslate with coped gables, and features a 19th-century brick chimney stack. The building is two storeys high and originally comprised three bays. A 20th-century door is positioned on the left side, set within a narrow painted surround and bearing a lintel dated and inscribed “I. & T.S. 1767.” One original two-light mullioned window remains, while the others have had their mullions removed and replaced with sash windows within original painted surrounds. An exception is the ground floor window on the right, which sits within an enlarged 19th-century surround. An adjoining outbuilding to the left is of no particular interest.
