Description

Brown’s Farmhouse is an 18th and early 19th century building of two storeys and an attic, originally with a three-bay front. The roof is of old tile, and the walls are rendered. The ground floor has cambered openings, and a recessed entrance is defined by an oval archway. The gable at the north end features exposed timber framing in its upper part. A large, tapered stack is attached to the rear wing, incorporating crowstep features. Modern casement windows have been installed. The entrance is marked by a six-panelled door set within a plain surround. A later south wing, of a slightly smaller scale, matches the design of the original house. A projecting staircase block is visible on the rear elevation, situated within the angle between the main house and the north wing.
