Description
The Friends Meeting House, located south-east of Sikeside, is a barn that was originally built as a Friends' Meeting House in 1736, on the site of a late 17th century Meeting House. It is constructed of red sandstone ashlar and features a shaped cornice, with a slate roof that has coped gables and kneelers. The building is single storey and consists of three bays. The entrance has a panelled door with a round head, complemented by projecting impost blocks and a keystone. The sash windows, which include glazing bars, are framed by raised stone surrounds with round heads and projecting keystones. The Meeting House was closed in 1913 and sold to a nearby farm in 1951, and it is now used as a barn, which has a large entrance cut through the rear wall.
