Description
Rigghead is a farmhouse dated 1698, marked with the initials GBS on the lintel. It features rendered walls, stone dressings, and a Welsh slate roof, along with yellow and red brick chimney stacks. The building is two storeys high with three bays, plus a single bay extension to the left under a common roof. The entrance has a chamfered surround and a moulded cornice that displays the date. The upper floor has 2-pane sash windows with chamfered surrounds and traces of original mullions, while the ground floor windows have been enlarged in the late 18th century, also featuring 2-pane sashes. To the left of the entrance, there is a fire window with a chamfered surround and a moulded cornice. Inside, the ground floor has beamed ceilings and a heck post in the central room. An interior door, which was formerly on the exterior side, has a painted chamfered surround with raised carved initials CP on the lintel. The listing does not include the other farm buildings.
