Description

This is a house with a former stable converted to a house, and an adjoining barn, dating to the early 19th century. The barn may be older. The house has painted stucco walls on a chamfered plinth, with painted stone dressings. It has a graduated slate roof and stucco chimney stacks.

The house is two storeys and four bays wide. The right-hand three bays have a central panelled door with an overlight, set within a Tuscan doorcase. Flanking this are canted bay windows with 20th-century casement windows. Above are 20th-century casement windows in original reveals and stone sills, along with a double sash window and another 20th-century casement.

The former stable (now Stable Croft, number 16) has steps leading to a 20th-century door and sidelight in a 20th-century opening. It has a 20th-century casement window above, with plain reveals and a stone sill. A 20th-century casement has been inserted into a blocked segmental archway, which is still visible beneath the stucco.

The barn has double plank doors on its right-hand side, set within a large segmental archway. The left return side is of painted brick and features a ground floor casement window and four levels of slit vents.

The interior has not been inspected.

The property includes a wall, speared railings, and an overthrow in front of the house. The former stable and barn are included within the listing for group value.
