Description
Midtown is a house and barn dating from the late 18th century. The house features painted stucco walls with V-jointed quoins and is topped with a graduated greenslate roof, which includes red sandstone ashlar chimney stacks. The barn is constructed from red sandstone rubble, also with V-jointed quoins. The building stands two storeys high and consists of two bays, with the barn on the right under a common roof. There is a rear extension that is also two storeys and two bays, creating an overall L-shape. The house has a panelled door with a fanlight in a painted stone surround, and sash windows with glazing bars set in raised painted stone surrounds, each fitted with 20th-century external shutters. The barn has a blank wall, while the right return wall features a plank door in a stone surround and triangular gable vents. The extension includes a plank door and casement windows in stone surrounds.
