Description

Milestone east of Broughton Cross, dating from the early 19th century, was created for the Cockermouth-Workington Turnpike. It is a whitewashed stone with a rounded top, featuring black lettering on the front that reads "COCKERMOUTH 3 MILES, WORKINGTON 5." The milestone has damage on the top left-hand corner.
