Description

Milestone located west of Cockermouth, dating from the early 19th century, was created for the Cockermouth-Workington Turnpike. It is made of whitewashed stone with a rounded top. The front of the milestone is inscribed with "COCKERMOUTH I MILE, WORKINGTON 7."
