Description
The byres and barn adjoining to the north of Cardew Hall are likely from the late 18th century, with some additions and alterations from the 19th century. They are constructed of red sandstone rubble, featuring a roof made of sandstone slabs at the rear and Welsh slate at the front. The buildings are long and two stories high, with a lower roof line than Cardew Hall. The ground floor has plank doors set within late 18th and early 19th century stone surrounds, with similar loft entrances above. At the rear, there is a polygonal gin-gang topped with a hipped Welsh slate roof. A large 19th century barn adjoins to the right but is not of particular interest. The byres and barn are listed partly for their group value with Cardew Hall.
