Description

Poplar House is a farmhouse, dated 1717 above the entrance, with later 18th and 19th century alterations. The walls are painted render, with a Welsh slate roof featuring coped gables, kneelers, and ashlar chimney stacks. The building is two storeys and originally five bays, with a single-storey, single-bay extension added to the left in the 19th century. The main entrance has a top-glazed 6-panel door set within a pilastered doorcase and a shaped hood. Sash windows with glazing bars are set in painted stone surrounds. A large 20th-century canted bay window has been added to the right. A late 18th-century sash window was enlarged to the left, with smaller flanking windows added. The extension has a plank door and casement windows in stone surrounds.
