Description

Tarraby Farm and barn are a farmhouse and associated barn dating to 1772. The farmhouse is built of Flemish bond brickwork and has a slate roof with brick chimney stacks. It is two storeys high and has three bays. The front door has a moulded surround, a shouldered architrave, and a moulded cornice. Sash windows with glazing bars are set within flat brick arches, each with a stone key and keystone. The gable has a coping with kneelers. To the right of the farmhouse, adjoining it and separated by an English garden wall, is a barn constructed of English garden wall bond brickwork. The barn features a large, quoined cart entrance leading to the farmyard. It has boarded and glazed windows and a loft above. A stone lintel is inscribed with the dates “William & Dorothy Bell.”
