Description
Old Farm Pottery is an early 19th-century farmhouse located in Knowefield, Carlisle. The building features incised stucco walls set on a chamfered plinth, with angle pilasters and an eaves cornice. It has a Welsh slate roof and end stucco chimney stacks. The structure is two storeys high and consists of two bays, with a two-bay left return creating a rough L-shape. The central entrance is a panelled door that is partly glazed, framed by a painted stone surround and topped with a cornice. The windows are sash style with glazing bars, set within painted stone architraves. The left return of the building includes a full-height canted bay window along with additional sash windows. There is also a rear outshut and a lean-to. The interior has not been inspected. This farmhouse was part of the Knowefield estate owned by Sir William Watt, associated with the firm of Little and Ballantyne.
