Description

This headstone, located approximately 10 meters south of the south doorway of the chancel of the Church of St. Peter and St. Paul, dates from the late 17th century and was repaired in the 18th century. It is made of limestone and features an inscription plaque designed to resemble fringed drapery, topped with scrolls. The inscription reads: "Here Lyeth the body of Henery Bagley who departed this life the 1 Day of Jan 1683/4. To perpetuate ye memory of an ingenious bell founder this stone was repaired A.D. 1791."
