Description
Benwill House is a house dating from the mid-18th century to the 19th century. It is constructed of regular coursed lias stone and features a slate roof. The building originally had a three-unit plan and is two storeys high, with a four-window range that includes various sized casements, some of which have glazing bars, all set under wooden lintels. There is a 19th-century panelled door located to the right of the centre, also under a wooden lintel. The house has brick and stone stacks at the ridge and a shallow brick flight leading to the front door. Inside, the left room features chamfered ceiling beams and rafters, while other rooms have chamfered central beams. The room to the right of the entrance retains the remains of an open fireplace with a chamfered bressumer.
