Description

Waterloo House is a house dating from the mid-18th century, located on the west side of Moulton Church Street. It is constructed of squared coursed lias stone, with limestone dressings and a slate roof. Originally designed with a two-unit plan, it is two storeys high with an attic, and features a four-window front. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars, set beneath flat arches with ashlar dressings. A six-panelled door is located to the right of centre, and it is topped by a fanlight and a flat hood. The house has ashlar quoins and ashlar gable parapets. There are two gabled roof dormers and brick stacks at the ends. A datestone is set into the left gable, but the inscription is now illegible. A 20th-century extension has been added to the right. At the rear, there are two casements with leaded lights. The interior includes a cellar, formerly a scullery, which retains remains of an open fireplace with a bressumer.
