Description
Lodge Farmhouse in Welford is a farmhouse that likely dates from the mid-18th century and was remodeled in the early 19th century. It is constructed of brick and has a slate roof, featuring a T-shaped plan and three storeys. The entrance front has a three-window range of sash windows with glazing bars that decrease in size on the second floor, all set under flat rusticated stucco arches. The central entrance consists of a six-panelled door with moulded wood reveals, a semi-circular fanlight with glazing bars, and a plain brick arch above. There are brick stacks at both ends of the building, and the gables and rear wing display chequered brickwork. Inside, the ground floor rooms have six-panelled doors, and there is an early 19th-century staircase with a stick balustrade. The kitchen at the rear features an open fireplace with a bressumer.
