Description
Clemdor, Windrush Cottage, and Ivy Cottage are a row of three cottages dating from the early 18th century. They are built of coursed squared ironstone, with roofs made of artificial stone slate and asbestos tiles, and feature brick stacks. Clemdor, located on the right, is two storeys tall and originally had its entrance at the rear. It now has a 20th-century doorway where a former window was located in the right bay, featuring a wooden lintel and a 20th-century half-glazed door. To the left, there is a three-light window with a wooden lintel and wooden casement, as well as a three-light window on the first floor with a wooden lintel and an old iron casement.
Windrush Cottage, situated in the center, is one bay, one storey, and has an attic. It features 20th-century two-light casement windows with wooden lintels on both floors and a 20th-century dormer. The interiors of both Clemdor and Windrush Cottage include a set of chamfered beams and open fireplaces with bread-ovens. It is noted that the subsidiary joists were renewed after a fire at Windrush Cottage around 1967. Ivy Cottage, located on the left, is said to have been a former hovel that was remodeled into a dwelling in the 20th century. It is one storey with an attic and has two bays, featuring 20th-century windows, two of which have original continuous wooden lintels on the ground floor.
