Description
Bourtons Farmhouse is a farmhouse dated 1655, as indicated by the datestone W.M./1655. It is constructed of squared coursed lias and has an asbestos tile roof. The building likely originally had a three-unit plan and consists of two storeys with an attic. The front features a four-window range of 20th-century casements, with a bow window to the left and a 20th-century door to the far right, which has a hood mould above it. There is a plank door located to the far left. The farmhouse has ashlar gable parapets and kneelers, along with brick and stone stacks at the ridge and ends. The right gable displays two three-light and one two-light stone mullioned windows, each with hood moulds above. The datestone is positioned in the right gable. At the rear, there is one three-light stone mullioned window with a hood mould above. The right gable is noted for its asymmetrical arrangement of windows by R.B. Wood-Jones.
