Description

Keepers Cottage is a house dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of regular coursed lias stone with a slate roof. The house follows a two-unit plan and is two storeys high with an attic. The front elevation has a two-window range, featuring 19th-century casement windows beneath wooden lintels, and a central plank door also beneath a wooden lintel. Brick stacks are located at each end of the building. A 20th-century garage is attached to the left side. The right gable has a single two-light attic casement window with leaded lights. Inside, the ground floor rooms feature chamfered centre beams and some moulded joists. Two open fireplaces with bressumers are present in the ground floor rooms; the left-hand room's fireplace incorporates a bread oven. A dogleg staircase serves the upper floors.
