Description
Sears Farmhouse is a mid-18th century farmhouse that has been converted into a house. It is built of squared coursed lias stone and has a plain tile roof. The layout follows a lobby-entry plan and the building has two storeys with an attic. The front features a two-window range of casements, some of which have leaded lights, all set under wooden lintels. There is a central plank door also under a wooden lintel. The left gable has an ashlar parapet and kneelers, with a central brick stack. To the right, there is a 20th-century extension. At the rear, there is a semi-circular bread oven that projects from the wall.
Inside, the room to the left of the entrance has an open fireplace with a bressumer, stop-chamfered ceiling beams, and one wall and one corner cupboard with panelled doors. The room to the right of the entrance also features an open fireplace with a bressumer and a bread oven, along with stop-chamfered ceiling beams.
