Description

This building is a former barn and stables located approximately 40 metres south of Number 23 on Park Street in Towcester. It dates from the 18th century and has been altered in the 19th and 20th centuries. The structure is made of coursed squared ironstone and features slate roofs, forming an L-plan. The building has an irregular arrangement of 19th and 20th-century casement windows. Notable architectural details include quoins, hollow-chamfered stone eaves, and stone-coped gables with kneelers. The end wall of the stable is constructed of brick. Inside, the barn boasts a 7-bay king-post roof with struts to the principal rafters and raking struts.
