Description
Manor House is a house from the early 18th century, which is said to incorporate earlier work. It is built of squared coursed limestone and ironstone, topped with a stone slate roof. The building has a U-shaped plan and consists of two storeys, an attic, and a cellar. The facade features three bays, with four blocked two-light stone mullioned windows in the cellar. A central doorway, approached by six stone steps, has a stone lintel and a four-panel part-glazed door. On the ground floor, there are three-light windows with wooden mullions and transoms, along with stone lintels, while the first floor has similar two-light windows. The hipped attic dormers contain two-light iron casements, and all windows are fitted with leaded panes. The gable ends are coped and have kneelers. At the rear, there are two two-storey wings, one of which was extended in the 20th century. The interior has not been inspected, but it is said to feature an early 18th-century staircase with square newels, recessed panels, turned balusters, and a moulded handrail, as well as a large stone-sided inglenook fireplace.
