Description
Sundial House is a house with datestones from 1650 and 1772, located on Scaldwell High Street. It is constructed of squared coursed lias and features a slate roof. The building has a 2-unit plan and stands two storeys tall with an attic. The front has a three-window range of 19th-century sashes under flat arches, with the ground floor windows being wider. To the left, there is a 19th-century glazed door. The house has an ashlar cornice, gable parapets, and kneelers, along with ashlar stacks at either end. There are 20th-century roof dormers. A large sundial dated 1650 is situated between the first-floor windows, likely restored in the 20th century. The left and right gables each have a datestone from 1650 and 1772. Additionally, there is a 19th-century wing to the left, which has a two-window range of casements with leaded lights and a door to the left.
