Description

The Old Thatch is a pair of mid-18th century houses, now combined into a single dwelling. The exterior is constructed of squared coursed lias stone, topped with a 20th-century concrete tiled roof. Originally planned as two separate units, the house has a symmetrical, four-window facade. The windows are casements with leaded lights and some original glass, with a single horizontal sash window at ground floor level on the left. All windows are topped with wooden lintels. There are two doors between the windows: a four-panelled door to the left and an eight-panelled door to the right. Ashlar gable parapets conceal a brick stack on the ridge of the roof and at one end. The interior was not inspected in detail, but the room to the left of the centre contains an open fireplace with a bressumer.
