Description
This is an early 19th-century former bakery and dwelling, now a house and shop, located on Furnace Lane in Nether Heyford. The building is constructed of red brick in an irregular Flemish garden wall bond, with a raking stretcher bond to the right gable end, and has a slate roof with brick lateral stacks. It follows a double-depth plan and is two storeys and an attic in height, with a four-window front. The right-hand side of centre features a four-panel door with a segmental-arched head and a curved metal hood supported by iron brackets. To the left of this door is a plank 'stable' door, also with a segmental-arched head and a curved metal hood. Shallow segmental bay windows with curved 12-pane sash windows flank the door. The first floor has 12-pane sashes alternating with blank windows, all with segmental-arched heads. The interior includes a large storage area over the former bakery, created by the absence of a floor between the left half of the first floor and the attic.
