Description
This cottage, located at 64 Blackwell End, dates from the 18th century and has been altered in the 20th century. It is constructed from coursed limestone rubble and features a thatched roof with brick stacks at each end. The building has a two-unit plan and stands two stories tall with a two-window range. The central entrance is a 20th-century door with a wooden lintel. There are two-light casement windows on both the ground and first floors, with the upper windows set in eyebrow dormers, all featuring wooden lintels.
To the right, there is a single-storey rendered extension with a lean-to roof. On the left side, there is an older one-storey-and-attic extension with a thatched roof, which also has two-light casements with wooden lintels on the ground floor. Inside, the cottage is noted for its spine beams and an open fireplace with a chamfered bressumer.
