Description
This is a barn that has been converted into a cottage and is now used as an outbuilding. It dates back to 1677 and was altered in the 19th century. The structure is built from coursed limestone rubble and features a 20th-century pantile roof, along with a brick stack at the rear. The barn has a one-unit plan, is two storeys high with an attic, and has a one-window range. The gable end faces Church Street and includes a three-light casement window on the ground floor, which has a stop-chamfered wood lintel. There is a ventilation slit in the gable, and above the window, there is a datestone with a hood mould. The left angle of the building has been partly cut away and rounded. The gables are capped with ironstone and have kneelers. The entrance is located at the rear. It is possible that the building was originally longer and has been reduced in size by several bays. This barn is included for its group value with nearby structures.
