Description
Honeysuckle Cottage is a pair of dwellings that were formerly one farmhouse, dating from the mid to late 17th century and altered in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed of coursed squared limestone, partly rendered, with a 20th-century ridged tile roof and brick ridge and end stacks. It has a three-unit plan and stands two storeys high with an attic, featuring a two-window range.
The elevation facing Mill Lane displays an irregular arrangement of glazing, including one-, two-, and three-light casement windows with wooden lintels. The ground and first floors on the far left have 20th-century casements, and there are two 20th-century dormer windows. The right side has a stone-coped gable with kneelers. To the left, there is a two-storey, one-window wing with a small one-light window on the ground floor, also featuring a wooden lintel and a stone-coped gable with kneelers. The main block includes a full-height stair turret at the rear centre. The entrances to Nos. 10 and 12 are located at the rear. Inside, the cottage features chamfered spine beams.
