Description
This is a house located at 49 Church Street in Cogenhoe, dating from the early to mid-18th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. The building is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and has a slate roof with brick stacks at the ends. It features a two-unit plan and stands two storeys high with an attic, displaying a three-window range on the front. The central entrance consists of a four-panel door topped by a wooden lintel, set within a gabled trellis porch. On either side of the door, there are two-light casement windows on both the ground and first floors, as well as a single-light window in the centre of the first floor, all of which have wooden lintels. The eaves are accented with courses of brick. To the right of the centre, there is a two-light chamfered stone mullion window for the cellar, along with quoins and gables made of ironstone, which are capped with kneelers. The interior has not been inspected.
