Description

Star Hall, previously known as Star Hall, is a late 19th-century institute now disused. It was originally designed as a mens temperance institute. The building is constructed of squared coursed ironstone with a slate roof. It comprises a first-floor hall with ancillary rooms on the ground floor. The front elevation has a four-window range on both floors; the first-floor windows are tall, 2-light stone-mullion windows with pointed heads. A 20th-century door is located between the first and second windows on the right-hand side, featuring a fanlight above and a stone lintel. The building has ashlar gable parapets and kneelers. The rear elevation is similar in design. A small quatrefoil is set into the south gable. The building is attached to Star Hall House by a single-storey porch.
